Report on Two-Day Robotics Workshop
Introduction
A two-day robotics workshop was organized on 18th Nov and 19th Nov 2024 to provide students with hands-on experience in robotics and encourage them to develop innovative technical skills. The event included technical sessions on robotics fundamentals and culminated in an exciting Robo Race competition. The workshop was attended by students from various departments, creating a collaborative and enthusiastic atmosphere.
Technical experts:
- Mr.Sachin Sharma, Manager, Incubation Center UPID Noida
- Mr.Mahip Singh, Head, Innovation Hub, AKTU, Lucknow
Day 1: Workshop on Robotics Basics
The first day focused on theoretical and practical learning.
- Session 1: Introduction to Robotics
– Overview of robotics and its applications in various fields.
– Components of a robot: sensors, actuators, controllers, and power sources. - Session 2: Hands-on Training
– Assembly of a basic robot using provided kits.
– Troubleshooting common issues during robot construction.
Participants were guided by experienced instructors, ensuring all attendees successfully built their robots by the end of the day.
Day 2: Advanced Training and Robo Race Event
The second day started with advanced training and concluded with the much-anticipated Robo Race event.
- Session 3: Hands-on Training
– Programming robots for simple tasks using Arduino.
– Troubleshooting common issues during robot construction. - Robo Race Event
– Participants competed by racing their robots on a pre-designed track.
– The track included obstacles, sharp turns, and varying terrain, testing the robot’s speed and agility.
– Teams were judged on criteria such as completion time, design creativity, and technical innovation.
Outcomes
- Participants gained practical knowledge in robotics and programming.
- The workshop fostered teamwork, problem-solving skills, and innovation.
- The Robo Race event generated enthusiasm and provided a platform to showcase participants’ creativity.
Conclusion
The two-day robotics workshop and Robo Race event were highly successful, sparking interest in robotics and encouraging students to pursue further learning in this field. Feedback from participants highlighted the interactive and challenging nature of the event, making it an invaluable learning experience.
Future workshops could include more complex tasks, ensuring participants continue to be challenged and inspired.
